A history of Mount Tabor Center
Built in 1950 as a convent for the School Sisters of Notre Dame, the Mount Tabor Center has a rich history of being a place of transformation for many Catholics. Hospitality, faith formation and youth retreats have been provided at the site since the early 1980s by the Christian Brothers and other religious leaders.
In 2003, Eden and Katherine Foord became the Directors of the Mount Tabor Center, and the ministry began to grow at a fast pace. SPIRITUS Ministries was created to further the growth and respond to the call of Pope Benedict XVI for young adults to enter into the mission of the Church.
